Creating a Community of Mothers on Fire
Since I discovered life coaching 5 years ago, I have definitely become a self-proclaimed "personal development junkie". I can't get enough of all the great books that are out there. I have also been fortunate enough to meet people who feel the same way as I do about personal development. These are the people that I try to surround myself with. We get together for coffee like everyone else does except that we bring our various notebooks and share what our goals are for the month, quarter or year. We try to motivate each other if anyone is feeling stuck in a particular area (which is always the case). We share our best strategies for working out, eating healthy, staying calm with the kids, dealing with the mounting piles of paper on our kitchen counters, meditating, ... and on it goes. The best part is how we are there to support and nurture each other in positive and productive ways. We are allowed to complain but not for too long as it rarely serves a purpose. We've designed our relationship around being honest with each other even when it may not be the "nice" thing to do. And that's okay because we know that the other person has our best interest at heart and only wants to challenge us to step out of our box and do what needs to be done in order to grow. This also means that we never feel judged by anyone. What is right for one person may not be right for the next but that is the whole point of self-discovery; learning what is right for you.
It is an incredible feeling to know that you are supported in such a way and it is that exact feeling that we are trying to create with everything we do at Mothers on Fire. We designed and organized our website specifically for mothers all around the world to be able to participate, share in and learn from each others' journeys. We want the website to be a place where moms can go to share ideas on everything from making our lives easier (cooking, organizing,...) to making our lives more fulfilling (health, spirituality,...).
My partner and dear friend, Lisa Garber, calls life coaching a "conversation with a purpose". It is with great excitement that we would like to invite you and your friends to visit our website, join our forum discussions and start the deeper conversation!
